Speaking Confidently in Conference Situations

The Doctoral Academy offers doctoral candidates on-demand and tailor-made opportunities to acquire general transferable skills.

This full-day seminar focuses on a variety of communication situations in the conference context, ranging from more informal small talk during coffee breaks or receptions to more formal settings such as chairing or moderating conference sessions, introducing speakers, or managing Q&A. In addition, the seminar format also allows taking participants' individual interests and needs into consideration.

Based on short inputs, participants will practice typical situations in pairs as well as small groups. Trainer and peer feedback consolidate the learning effect.
