Iain MacGillivray is a Doctoral candidate at the Asia Institute at the University of Melbourne. His research interests include International Relations theory, political psychology, authoritarianism, Turkish politics and foreign policy.  His work focuses on Turkey during the governance of the Justice and Development Party (AKP) in the Post Arab Spring period. Iain works as a course coordinator, teaching associate and research assistant at the University of Melbourne in Islamic and Middle East Studies. Iain has published several articles on Middle Eastern and Turkish politics as well as providing analysis for both the private sector, international media and public institutions as a Turkey & Middle East analyst. He holds a Masters of International Relations from the University of Melbourne and a Masters of Science (Middle East Studies) from the Middle East Technical University in Ankara, Turkey.
