Austrian Enemy Aliens in British Caribbean Internment Camps during World War II

Over 5,000 Austrians were interned up as enemy aliens in British, French, Dutch US as well as Cuban and Haitian camps in the Caribbean. Among them many Austrian Jews who have escaped from Nazi terror. This lecture will focus on the internment camps in Jamaica and Trinidad, discussing persecution, flight, internment and onward migration.
